Last night I went to the opening night of this movie at Cinema 21. We also got to hear from Producer and Co-Director Morgan Spurlock (of Supersize Me & 30 Days) who was there for the two showings last night.

Please go see this film! It’s very poignant and definitely more than a little eye opening. As Morgan put it, this is a true independent film. He had to self finance the documentary as major distributors would not touch it. Why? Because one of the major companies they targeted in this film is Walmart, distributor of 50% of all DVDs! Major distributors were worried that not only would Walmart not distribute this DVD, but they could deny the distribution of other DVD’s of this movies distributor in retaliation! Who gets to decide what you see and hear?
The movie runs from November 23 – 29th ONLY! Morgan Spurlock will again be at the 7:00 and 9:15 showings tonight.
A major part of the message is to think about your shopping habits and where you shop. They are encouraging people to by local and think about where the money goes–does it go back into the community or back to some major corporation?
