Ekam sat vipraha bahudha vadanti

In more exciting news I got a new tattoo around my right wrist yesterday. I learned of a quote last term in my Spiritual Traditions class that has really impacted me. Not only do I fully support it’s meaning, but it inspired me to make the big thesis shift eight weeks into a ten week term. It is a quote from the Hindu text, the Rig Veda Book 1, Hymn CLXIV – Viśvedevas, Line 46. The tattoo is in Sanskrit and reads:

Ekam sat vipraha bahudha vadanti

translates to: Truth is one, the wise call it by many names
