What, you may ask, is the significance of this number? It is the coding in the DSM for gender identity disorder. Some would reduce my life to this, a number in a book. Well I am more than a number.

Today is transgender day of rememberance. Tonight was a candlelight vigil commemorating those transgendered individuals whose lives were cut short because of ignorance, fear, and hatred. On speaker explained that more transgendered people have been killed in 2008 than any other year. Tonight was a very hard and tear-filled evening for me. But at the same time, it was inspirational, thought provoking and fucking important.

I want to say thank you to R for coming with me. Her presence was so important and really helped me to make it through the evening.

I am too tired to be very coherent at this moment, but I have a lot of change that I wan to see in both my own life and the community. I have a lot of thinking to do.
